Global Commodity Manager – Electronics Procurement

About the role

Dyson’s Commodity Management team is looking for a Global Commodity Manager (Electronics) to own the commercial, strategic and supply‑readiness performance of key electronic components used across the company’s product portfolio. You will act as the primary commercial interface with suppliers, ensuring components are competitively sourced, dual‑sourced where feasible, and protected against supply‑chain risk.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute long‑term commodity strategies aligned with technology roadmaps and product pipelines.
• Maintain an Approved Vendor List (AVL) based on technical fit, cost, risk exposure and strategic alignment.
• Drive dual‑source and alternative component strategies to enhance resilience and cost optimisation.
• Partner with Research, Development and Design (RDD) to guide component selection and ensure supplier compliance with cost, quality and technical specifications.
• Coordinate component qualification, including alternative parts for risk mitigation or cost‑down initiatives.
• Lead commercial negotiations and contractual discussions to secure best‑in‑class cost, performance and terms.
• Conduct cost benchmarking, manage PPV and oversee risk‑buy decisions for critical components.
• Manage commercial exposure at contract manufacturers, handling cancellation liabilities, rescheduling and demand changes.
• Perform supplier and component risk assessments in collaboration with Category Procurement Managers.

Required profile

• Proven experience in global commodity management for electronic components.
• Strong understanding of dual‑sourcing, risk mitigation and cost optimisation strategies.
• Demonstrated ability to lead complex supplier negotiations and contractual discussions.
• Experience coordinating component qualification and managing supplier performance.
• Ability to work closely with RDD teams and influence component selection.
