Global Product Support Engineer (Automation)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Global Product Support Engineer (Automation) to support new product design, introduction, and field readiness for vacuum mainframe platform products in Singapore. The role combines hands‑on laboratory work, field service, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure product reliability and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in first‑product builds and testing in the Singapore lab; support final test as needed.
• Own beta‑site test plans, reporting, and drive issue resolution with system and design engineering.
• Develop installation plans, technical manuals, preventive and corrective maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Create and release lessons learned, best known methods, customer engineering notices, and internal service bulletins.
• Contribute to FMECA analyses and integrate corrective actions into new designs.
• Act as resolution owner for lab non‑conformities and field issues, ensuring proper documentation and change orders.
• Collaborate with supplier manufacturing and business units to develop OMS procedures and share lessons learned.
• Provide on‑site support for critical escalations and occasional travel to customer facilities.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of vacuum systems, robotics, and semiconductor substrate handling.
• Ability to work in clean‑room environments and perform field service on delivered systems.
• Experience creating technical documentation and maintenance procedures.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for on‑site activities.
