Global Product Support Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring a Global Product Support Engineer in Singapore. The role covers developing procedures and documentation for servicing new products, working with quality and reliability teams, and training customer engineers before shipments arrive.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new procedures and Best Known Methods (BKMs) to service new products, and collect process and qualification data to create BKMs
• Contribute to the FMECA process and participate in or own the first chamber Build & Test in the Apps lab
• Solve issues or work with Engineering to address issues identified
• Work with Manufacturing to develop procedures and take part, if required, in New Product final testing
• Partner with the Quality & Reliability (Q&R) group to review and address Top Field Issues and participate in or own the CAPA process
• Conduct or facilitate Failure Analysis (FA) if needed
• Develop and document procedures for installation, retrofitting and maintenance (Technical Product Manuals)
• Develop procedures, Customer Engineering Notices (CENs), Internal Service Bulletins (ISBs) and troubleshooting guides as required
• Develop the initial training package for new products and train Customer Engineers, Process Engineers and Technical Product Support staff before ELS shipments
• Identify new parts that need stocking by AGS and work with them to place parts correctly

Required profile

• Conceptual and practical expertise in your own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines
• Knowledge of best practices and how your area fits with others, awareness of the competition
• Able to act as a resource for colleagues with less experience and lead small, low-risk projects
• Able to solve complex problems and explain difficult or sensitive information clearly
