Group Accounts Executive/Manager

About the role

Nanyang Institute of Management (NIM), an education provider established in 2001, is looking for a Group Accounts Executive/Manager to join its team. The role reports directly to the President and covers strategic financial planning, accurate and timely financial reporting, and initiatives to improve cost efficiency and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll and financial reporting.
• Develop and monitor annual budgets aligned with the institution's strategic goals.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and analyse them to support future academic programmes.
• Implement and monitor financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Collaborate with department heads to forecast and optimise resources.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, statutory requirements and reporting standards, and manage cash flow.
• Review monthly payroll and handle bank submissions for staff and adjunct lecturers.
• Oversee tax matters, including GST reporting and filing, corporate tax compliance and liaison with external tax advisors.
• Ensure timely submission of statutory filings such as annual returns and surveys, and coordinate internal and external audits.
• Monitor changes in accounting standards, tax regulations and statutory requirements and update processes accordingly.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Professional certification such as CPA or CA.
• Minimum 3-5 years of progressive financial management experience, preferably in an international private education setting.
• Knowledge of Singapore's financial regulations and accounting standards.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required).
• Business acumen, financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting.
• Xero or QuickBooks Online proficiency is an advantage.
