Head of Finance

About the role

Newly created expansionary role to steer the finance function of a global banking group’s Singapore entity. The Head of Finance will act as the primary validator and auditor, liaising with local regulators and audit firms while driving financial control, tax and capital monitoring.

Key responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with the local audit firm and regulators, serving as the main point of contact.
• Lead financial control, tax, and capital monitoring activities and own the business plan for the local entity.
• Organise day‑to‑day operations to ensure timely and accurate accounting reports, including trial balance, ledger, P&L, and balance‑sheet substantiation.
• Manage a finance team to meet statutory reporting requirements, consolidation packages, regulatory surveys, and tax submissions.
• Oversee year‑end audit processes and ensure financial statements are completed and filed on schedule.
• Drive change initiatives in accounting systems and continuously improve processes to balance efficiency with controls.
• Present financial reports to senior stakeholders and enhance business‑partnering capabilities in support of strategic objectives.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or Finance; professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA or CIMA is an advantage.
• Extensive experience in financial management, accounting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Proven track record of leading finance teams or large‑scale projects.
• Experience with financial analysis, reporting, compliance and strategic financial planning.
• Strong project‑management and change‑leadership capabilities.

Required skills

• Advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems.
