Head of Institutional Client Services – Southeast Asia

About the role

HSBC is seeking a senior professional to lead its Institutional Client Services team for the Southeast Asia region. Based in Singapore, you will oversee a small, high‑performing team and ensure world‑class service for institutional investors, including HSBC Life Insurance Singapore.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a 4‑person Institutional Client Services team (2 direct reports in Singapore, 2 indirect in Bangalore) and provide coaching as needed.
• Deliver best‑in‑class client service and experience across traditional and alternative investments.
• Own day‑to‑day servicing oversight, including controls, reporting, and client communications.
• Participate in client calls and meetings, responding promptly to enquiries.
• Run regular investment pipeline meetings with clients across relevant asset classes.
• Coordinate production and delivery of client reporting and meeting materials with AMSG/AM and internal teams.
• Agree and manage service levels with internal stakeholders, maintain an issues/error log, and hold quality meetings.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements, reviewing client investment guidelines and escalating issues when necessary.

Required profile

• 10–15 years of relevant experience in client services within asset management, serving institutional clients.
• Strong knowledge of investments, asset classes, and the asset‑management industry; insurance investment knowledge is a plus.
• Proven client‑servicing experience in institutional business.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with strong negotiation capability.
• Solid analytical, problem‑solving, and risk‑awareness abilities.
• Strong organisational and project‑management capability.
• People‑management experience is a strong advantage.
