Head of Legal, APAC & Associate General Counsel

About the role

We are looking for a senior legal leader to serve as Head of Legal, APAC & Associate General Counsel, providing strategic legal guidance across the Asia‑Pacific region. The role partners with senior business stakeholders to manage legal risk while supporting growth and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to APAC business teams on cross‑border issues, supporting HR, sales, operations and regulatory frameworks.
• Advise on RFPs and multi‑country contracts, negotiate high‑value IT services agreements and guide regional counsel on contract review and closure.
• Review property and acquisition documents, leases and ensure compliance with local laws.
• Conduct legal awareness workshops and maintain legal templates for country‑specific regulations.
• Monitor regulatory changes across APAC and ensure readiness for compliance.
• Support litigation management across jurisdictions, coordinate with external counsel and handle notices and disputes.
• Lead M&A due diligence, review contracts and identify regulatory risks.
• Manage and develop the regional legal team, providing guidance to APAC and offshore counsel, driving collaboration and addressing capability gaps.
• Build expertise in APAC laws and up‑skill the team in cross‑border legal domains.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of relevant legal experience, including leadership of regional legal functions.
• Proven experience handling complex commercial transactions, regulatory compliance, litigation and M&A across multiple APAC jurisdictions.
• Demonstrated ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders.
• Experience managing and developing high‑performing legal teams in diverse locations.
