Head of Procurement – Strategic Leader for Retail

About the role

Ikano Retail is seeking a strategic and commercially driven Head of Procurement to lead and transform its procurement function across multiple markets. Reporting to the Deputy CEO, you will shape the end‑to‑end procurement and contract management strategy, ensuring strong governance, sustainable cost optimisation and long‑term business value.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with business growth, cost optimisation and governance priorities.
• Lead complex, high‑value negotiations and establish long‑term, value‑driven supplier partnerships across key spend categories.
• Build, lead and develop a high‑performing procurement organisation, enhancing capabilities in sourcing, contract management and supplier performance.
• Establish robust procurement and contract governance frameworks to ensure compliance, transparency and auditability across all markets.
• Drive excellence across the sourcing and contract lifecycle, from strategy through execution and performance monitoring.
• Partner with senior stakeholders (e.g., Expansion, Property, FM, Fulfilment, Digital, Marketing, Food) to shape sourcing and contract strategies.
• Provide data‑driven insights on spend, contracts and risk exposure to support strategic decisions.
• Champion procurement digitalisation and process standardisation (Source‑to‑Pay, contract repositories, analytics).
• Ensure full financial transparency of contract portfolios, including commitments, forecasting and performance against targets.
• Identify and manage commercial and contractual risks, implementing early mitigation measures.
• Promote responsible and sustainable sourcing practices across the supplier base.
