HR Director, APAC

About the role

The client, a European multinational manufacturing corporation, is seeking an experienced HR Director for the Asia‑Pacific region. This senior leader will shape and execute the regional people strategy, partnering with senior leadership to drive organisational effectiveness, talent development, employee engagement and HR operational excellence across multiple countries.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement regional HR strategies aligned with global objectives, advising senior leaders on organisational design, workforce planning and business transformation.
• Lead end‑to‑end talent management, including succession planning, leadership development, performance management and learning initiatives.
• Partner with business leaders on workforce planning, oversee regional hiring for key and leadership roles, and strengthen employer branding.
• Manage employee relations, provide guidance on complex HR issues, and ensure consistent practices while adapting to local regulations.
• Support regional compensation strategy, benchmarking and annual reward reviews to maintain market competitiveness.
• Oversee HR policies, processes, compliance and drive digital HR transformation initiatives.
• Champion an inclusive, performance‑oriented culture and lead employee engagement programmes to improve retention.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• 12‑15+ years of progressive HR experience with regional leadership exposure.
• Proven ability to operate in a multi‑country, matrix organisation.
• Strong experience partnering senior leadership on strategic HR initiatives.
• Solid understanding of core HR disciplines including talent, compensation, employee relations and organisational development.
