Indirect Tax Accountant – $6.5k (West)

About the role

The Indirect Tax Accountant will collaborate with local country accountants in Singapore and other APAC locations, reporting to the Tax Manager. The role focuses on indirect tax compliance, advisory support, and audit assistance across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review VAT/GST/WHT returns for the region.
• Provide ad‑hoc indirect tax advice to sales, purchases, accounts payable, credit, and operations teams.
• Support indirect tax audits and ensure proper documentation for exports, zero‑rated and exempt sales.
• Analyze and implement best practices and internal controls for VAT/GST on entertainment expenses, company cars, import VAT reconciliation, and related processes.
• Configure and maintain the indirect tax determination engine.
• Act as a regional subject‑matter expert on projects such as ERP implementation, transformation initiatives, and e‑invoicing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, taxation or a related field; CPA/CA qualification preferred or near completion.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably with accounting exposure.
• Strong knowledge of applicable tax laws, codes, and regulations.
