Indirect Tax Accountant

About the role

We are looking for an Indirect Tax Accountant to collaborate with local accountants in Singapore and across APAC under the supervision of the tax manager. The role involves preparing and reviewing VAT/GST/WHT returns and delivering indirect tax advice to various business functions.

Key responsibilities

• Work with local country accountants in Singapore and APAC under tax manager supervision.
• Prepare or review VAT/GST/WHT returns.
• Provide ad‑hoc indirect tax advice to sales, purchases, accounts payable, credit and operations departments.
• Support indirect tax audits.
• Analyse and implement best practices and internal controls for indirect‑tax‑sensitive processes such as entertainment expenses, company cars, import VAT reconciliation, export documentation and zero‑rated sales.
• Understand and configure the indirect tax determination engine.
• Contribute as a regional subject‑matter expert to projects such as ERP, transformation and e‑invoicing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, taxation or a related field.
• CPA/CA qualification completed or near completion (preferred).
• 3–5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably with accounting background.
• Knowledge of pertinent tax laws, codes and regulations.
