Indirect Tax Accountant – VAT/GST Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an Indirect Tax Accountant to support our APAC operations, primarily in Singapore. Reporting to the Tax Manager, you will ensure compliance with VAT, GST and withholding tax obligations while providing expert tax advice across multiple business functions.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with local country accountants in Singapore and other APAC locations.
• Prepare and review VAT, GST and WHT returns.
• Provide ad‑hoc indirect tax guidance to sales, purchasing, accounts payable, credit and operations teams.
• Support indirect tax audits and liaise with tax authorities.
• Analyse and implement best practices and internal controls for tax‑sensitive processes such as entertainment expenses, company cars, import VAT reconciliation, export documentation and zero‑rated sales.
• Configure and maintain the indirect tax determination engine.
• Act as regional subject‑matter expert on projects including ERP implementations, transformation initiatives and e‑invoicing roll‑outs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation or a related field.
• CPA/CA qualification (completed or near completion) preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in indirect tax compliance and accounting.
• Strong knowledge of relevant tax laws, codes and regulations.
