Industrial Engineering Intern - HBM Sample Planning and AI Dashboards

About the role

Micron is looking for an industrial engineering intern in its High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) Product and Systems Engineering team in Singapore. The intern joins a structured project that improves the visibility and planning of HBM sample workflows through data analytics, dashboard development and artificial intelligence. The internship lasts 5 months, from January to May 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Map and document the end-to-end HBM sample workflow from Die Bank through probe, test, shipment and the Reliability Lab.
• Collect, clean and analyse sample-management data from manufacturing and planning systems.
• Develop predictive models for sample arrival and reliability start dates, and forecast burn-in and reliability resource demand.
• Build Power BI or Tableau dashboards for work-in-progress tracking, resource forecasting and risk monitoring, and prototype automated alerts for sample arrivals and readiness actions.
• Identify workflow bottlenecks and recommend improvements and automation.
• Produce a final report and presentation covering findings, model performance and recommendations.

Required profile

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics or a related field.
• Ability to commit to a full-time 5-month internship from January to May 2027.
• Interest in semiconductor manufacturing, sample logistics, workflow optimisation and business intelligence.

Required skills

• Familiarity with data analysis and visualisation tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Python or SQL.
• Knowledge of machine learning, AI tools or AI-enabled workflows is advantageous.
• Analytical thinking, structured problem solving, communication, teamwork, documentation and presentation skills.

High-performing interns may be considered for future full-time opportunities. The internship gives hands-on exposure to semiconductor sample logistics, predictive analytics and business intelligence.
