Industrial Engineering Intern

About the role

Micron is offering an Industrial Engineering internship within its Capacity, Capital and Layout project, covering Planning and Warehouse functions. The intern studies existing workflows, identifies improvement opportunities and develops prototype digital solutions that boost productivity and decision-making. The internship runs for 5 months, from January to May 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze existing workflows, processes and operational challenges, and document them
• Identify improvement opportunities through process mapping, data analysis and stakeholder engagement
• Develop and test prototype digital solutions, delivering up to three MVP solutions
• Evaluate solutions against user feedback and business requirements, recommending enhancements
• Use AI-enabled tools where appropriate to support workflow analysis and documentation
• Produce a final project report and present findings to stakeholders

Required profile

• Pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Data Science, Operations Management, Information Systems or a related field
• Ability to commit to a full-time 5-month internship (January to May 2027)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and good written, verbal and presentation skills
• Strong analytical capability, project ownership and collaboration skills may lead to further internship, graduate or full-time opportunities

Required skills

• Familiarity with process mapping, workflow analysis or business process improvement is advantageous
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Python, Power BI, UiPath or similar tools is advantageous
• Familiarity with AI, generative AI or AI-enabled workflows is advantageous
