Information Security Manager (Hands-On) - CISO to Associate CISO

About the role

A client based in the CBD of Singapore is looking for an experienced CISO / IT Security Lead to take charge of its information security strategy. The role works closely with the Chief Information & Technology Officer and other leaders to protect data, reduce cyber risks and align IT security with business goals. It is a senior position combining strategy, policy-making, risk management and hands-on oversight of cybersecurity operations. The contract is 1 year and extendable.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and roll out company-wide IT security strategies and policies, and advise senior management on cyber risks
• Conduct risk assessments of internal systems and external vendors, and lead audits and reviews of security practices
• Ensure compliance with standards such as MAS TRM and ISO 27001
• Manage the IT security budget and track and report metrics such as downtime, incident response and vendor SLAs
• Prepare business cases for new security investments
• Oversee threat detection and response programmes, lead incident investigations and coordinate actions during security incidents
• Recommend and implement security controls for new IT projects and drive continuous improvement

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Security or similar
• 5 years of hands-on IT security experience, including at least 5 years in a management or CISO role
• Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, CCSP) preferred
• Experience in the insurance sector is a plus
