Information Technology Support Specialist

About the role

The Information Technology Support Specialist provides hands‑on, on‑site assistance for hardware and basic networking tasks. Working under the direction of remote engineers or predefined SOPs, the role ensures that end‑users have reliable equipment and connectivity.

Key responsibilities

• Perform physical installation, movement, and cabling of desktops, laptops, docking stations and peripherals.
• Conduct hardware inspections to identify loose connections, damaged ports, or component failures.
• Manage local inventory, tag equipment and update the CMDB with hardware movements.
• Execute PC imaging, data migration and “Box‑to‑Desk” setups for new hires or upgrades.
• Provide physical access and basic support for network racks, servers and UPS systems as directed by L2/L3 teams.
• Replace faulty components (RAM, hard drives, keyboards) and handle RMA processes with vendors.

Required profile

• Strong professional communication and the ability to follow detailed technical instructions accurately.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Windows 10/11 and basic macOS troubleshooting.
• Experience using ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Jira.
• Familiarity with remote desktop tools.
• Basic understanding of TCP/IP, patch panels and Wi‑Fi configuration.
