Inland and Logistics Services Professional – APAC

About the role

In this position you will manage dry equipment assets and inventory flow across the Northeast Asia region (Korea, Japan and the Philippines). You will plan and optimise equipment deployment to support export demand while controlling idle equipment to reduce costs and improve utilisation.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the management of dry equipment inventory (20/40ST, 40HC, 45HC) across the Asia region in alignment with Head Office Logistics directives.
• Plan, optimise and direct equipment flows to support deficit locations, surplus regions and transshipment hubs.
• Manage idle container assets, including damaged units and sale/off‑hire candidates, to minimise operating costs and improve asset efficiency.
• Analyse supply and demand dynamics and coordinate effective equipment repositioning with internal teams and Head Office.
• Coordinate with agency teams, cargo flow and ship managers to maximise empty container loading, handling space requests, load tracking and corrective actions.
• Partner with cargo flow and sales teams to align equipment availability with forecasted export demand.
• Liaise with the procurement team on service level agreements related to storage capacity and utilisation.
• Analyse vessel schedules and port pairings to optimise equipment deployment and positioning efficiency.
• Utilise internal systems such as Qlik Sense and Excel to monitor and report equipment inventory levels.
• Support digitalisation initiatives by identifying quick wins and implementing process‑improvement opportunities.
• Execute additional equipment‑related tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree holder.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in shipping and equipment operations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including core functions and data consolidation techniques.
• Familiarity with Qlik Sense or similar inventory/stock management systems (advantageous).
• Hands‑on experience in equipment positioning (steering) and dry container fleet management.
• Collaborative team player with good communication skills.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
