Intern, FI Lending (Wholesale Banking)

About the role

ING's Wholesale Bank (WB) Asia internship programme offers a 6-month placement in the FI Lending team, covering January to June. The FIL team, under Transaction Management, handles credit risk analysis, limits and rating reviews, and lending origination and documentation for bank and non-bank financial institution (NBFI) counterparties. Fund Finance (FF) is also part of FIL in APAC.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare credit analysis and rating reviews for banks and NBFI clients in Asia
• Support FI sector coverage teams in origination and execution of facilities and new credit proposals and ratings
• Contribute to portfolio management, including customer due diligence and client monitoring
• Prepare communications for internal stakeholders such as pipeline and transaction status updates
• Cooperate with other ING teams and help on ad hoc projects

Required profile

• Undergraduate student in the second to final year with a demonstrated interest in banking and finance
• Basic understanding of how a wholesale bank operates and its business model
• Ability to work within deadlines with limited supervision and a high level of initiative
• Willingness to learn and contribute meaningfully to the team and the bank
• Fluent spoken and written English

• Proficiency in Excel, Word, Copilot and PowerPoint
