About the role

ING's Wholesale Banking internship programme for 2027 offers a 6-month placement in the Financial Markets team, within Global Securities Finance (GSF). GSF covers Fixed Income Repo and Equity Financing across 40+ markets, with trading desks in New York, London, Amsterdam and Singapore. The internship gives hands-on exposure to securities finance and its place in financial markets.

Key responsibilities

• Run essential routines such as risk checks, reporting packs and concise market summaries.
• Partner closely with traders to support risk management, refine trading strategies and validate P&L.
• Maintain and improve existing processes, possibly contributing to a broader automation or analytics project with measurable impact for the desk.
• Build practical fluency in executing trades within mandate, efficiently, profitably and in full compliance.

Required profile

• Self-driven, quick and open learner with a growth mindset.
• Excellent interpersonal communication.
• Solid time management and composure under pressure.

Required skills

• Fundamental understanding of global financial markets.
• Strong command of Excel (VBA a plus).
• Proficiency in Python.
