Intern - Solutions Engineer (AI Automation)

About the role

Micron's Quality Systems organization is looking for a Solutions Engineer Intern within its Transform the Business pillar, supporting the AI Process Intelligence (AIPI) team. This is a learning-focused, project-based internship for students or recent graduates in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering or related fields who are interested in AI and automation. The intern works under the guidance of senior Solutions Engineers and Process Architects in a controlled, non-production environment.

Key responsibilities

• Work on defined project modules such as Python-based automation prototypes and AI agent proof-of-concepts (e.g. intake, classification or query agents)
• Explore predictive modeling techniques on sample or historical datasets
• Develop prototype connectors or data pipelines for knowledge integration use cases
• Evaluate AI model behavior through controlled testing and analysis
• Document design decisions, architecture patterns and learning outcomes
• Deliver prototype-level Python scripts or notebooks, AI agent demos, sample data pipelines, technical documentation and a final project presentation

Required profile

• Student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline
• Programming fundamentals with an emphasis on Python
• Basic understanding of software development concepts
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving mindset
