Intern, Sustainable Solutions Group APAC

About the role

ING's Wholesale Banking Asia internship programme (2027) offers a 6-month placement in the Sustainable Solutions Group (SSG) team, covering the Asia Pacific region including Australia, Greater China, Japan, Korea and the Philippines. The SSG team translates ING's sustainability strategy into business opportunities, delivering expertise, tools and data to support financing, advice and strategic support for wholesale banking clients, and structures sustainable products. The internship runs from January to June 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Research and market analysis: analyse sustainable finance and related markets across ING's sector portfolio, monitor market updates and regulatory developments, and analyse corporate sustainability disclosures and sector trends.
• Transaction support: assist in the origination, structuring and execution of sustainable finance transactions, prepare pitchbooks and client materials, and support the development of green, social and sustainable financing frameworks.
• Analyse eligibility of green and social assets and ESG ratings of companies.
• Innovation and ad-hoc tasks: prepare conference, seminar and workshop materials, help run internal trainings on sustainable finance, and contribute to areas such as the circular economy and energy transition.
• Quarterly deal reporting and other sustainability-related tasks.

Required profile

• Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in any discipline.
• Strong interest in using financial markets to create positive environmental and social impact.
• Fluent spoken and written English; knowledge of other Asian languages, particularly Mandarin (preferred).
