Internal Audit Manager, APAC

About the role

A global leading manufacturer of eyewear products is looking for an Internal Audit Manager covering the Asia Pacific region, through its partner Timeo-Performance. The role manages the day-to-day conduct and completion of audits and develops draft reports and communications to stakeholders. It is based in Singapore and involves significant travel across the APAC region.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare audit work papers and review those prepared by the team, and prepare and communicate audit findings to management
• Send the draft audit report to stakeholders before the closing meeting and review management's responses to ensure they are actionable and have completion dates
• Own the finalised audit program, update it and track the status of all testing activities
• Keep the Audit Director informed of progress and team status, and counsel the team on additional testing and documentation
• Maintain good working relationships with auditees and the audit team, evaluate staffing needs and regional team performance, and identify training needs

Required profile

• Bachelor of Business, CPA, ACCA, CIA or CISA, and membership of the Institute of Internal Auditors
• 10+ years of internal audit experience, often in a large professional services or accountancy firm and/or the commercial sector
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Desirable: fluency in Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean and Thai, as close collaboration with counterparts from these countries is expected

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office / Google applications (Word and Excel)
• Proficiency with data analytics tools and applications
• Desirable: TeamMate audit software, manufacturing, retail and wholesale data, SAP, and data analytics

Travel is required to APAC countries, typically two weeks per trip, with an estimated 40% of time spent travelling; the exact schedule depends on the annual audit plan and may be affected by destination restrictions.
