International Development Director – APAC

About the role

The International Development Director for the APAC region will lead the creation and execution of the strategic restaurant growth plan across multiple countries. Reporting to senior leadership, this role oversees licensee development, sets standards, and drives new‑restaurant targets to support long‑term expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Define and justify the regional restaurant development roadmap, covering various asset types, channels, and licensees.
• Collaborate with General Managers, Country Directors and franchisees to create market development plans and manage pipelines of openings, closings, relocations and remodels.
• Lead franchisees in developing reserved territories, ensuring optimal brand coverage and penetration using market mapping and saturation analysis tools.
• Implement brand development processes in partnership with corporate functions such as Franchise Administration and Legal.
• Review new site applications, conduct in‑market visits, and support licensees in decision‑making and trade‑area assessments.
• Maintain relationships with industry, government and brokerage contacts to generate high‑quality site acquisition leads.
• Drive unit‑level economic improvements by working cross‑functionally with architecture, finance and operations teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading restaurant or hospitality development initiatives across multiple markets.
• Strong strategic leadership and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical skills for market mapping, trade‑area assessment and economic modeling.
• Track record of building and managing robust development pipelines.
