iTeam Manager, Customer Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions for semiconductors and advanced displays, is hiring an iTeam Manager, Customer Engineer based in Singapore. The role manages customer relationships and a team of customer engineers in a district, acting as the main link between the field team and the Product Divisions.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain customer relationships with all relevant people in the district and perform regular customer visits
• Manage, coach and direct customer engineers, including salary and career planning, corrective actions, objectives and performance appraisals
• Act as the main interface with Product Divisions: technical support, training, spares and reliability
• Monitor the mentor programme so new engineers have a defined mentor, and run escalations and the RMA procedure
• Plan accounts with the District Sales Engineer and provide a support plan for system sales to CSD Management, Sales and Field Engineering
• Handle system installation: planning, reporting, execution, pre-facility and start-up meetings, and process support identification
• Provide financial forecasts and cost-efficiency oversight for the district, and measure engineer effectiveness and hours tracking
• Act as POC with the Install Productivity Group and Business Unit for QRAM alignment, documentation and training, and oversee product resource availability across sites
• Lead first-line management of install engineers, set priorities, coach employees to meet daily deadlines and partner with ramp/site managers on escalations

Required profile

• Understanding of installation performance management: safety, quality, cycle time and cost
• Knowledge of procedures and concepts within the own job family and basic knowledge of related ones
• Formal supervisory responsibilities, with the ability to coach employees and solve day-to-day technical and operational problems
• Tactful handling of sensitive issues and compliance with the company's global standards of business conduct
