Japanese-Speaking Sales Manager – Marine Industry

About the role

The company seeks a proactive Japanese‑speaking Sales Manager to drive business growth within the marine and offshore sectors across Singapore. The role involves building strong client relationships, delivering tailored solutions, and representing the company at industry events.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, qualify and close sales opportunities with new and existing marine and offshore customers.
• Develop and strengthen customer relationships to generate new business opportunities.
• Gather customer requirements and communicate market insights and feedback to internal stakeholders.
• Leverage product, service and operational expertise to design suitable solutions and support business growth.
• Prepare and oversee sales proposals, negotiate commercial contracts and obtain management approval.
• Deliver presentations and proposals to prospective customers and build relationships with key decision‑makers and senior stakeholders.
• Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, conferences and industry events to identify opportunities and stay informed of market developments.

Required profile

• 4–8 years of relevant sales experience with a proven track record.
• Professional working proficiency in Japanese to communicate effectively with Japanese‑speaking clients and stakeholders.
• Strong business acumen, communication, presentation, negotiation and relationship‑management skills.
• Ability to engage and influence senior‑level decision‑makers.
• Established sales networks within the marine industry (preferred).
• Knowledge of maritime satellite communication services (preferred).
• Previous experience as a Radio Officer or relevant maritime operational experience (preferred).
• Existing business relationships with ship managers and shipowners (preferred).
