Junior Financial Controller APAC

About the role

A global MNC providing engineering, construction and maintenance services is looking, through its partner Timeo-Performance, for a Financial Controller APAC based in the Singapore regional office. The role oversees the financial operations of the company, ensures accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements, and supports strategic decisions by giving senior management timely and accurate financial insights.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and Group reporting in line with applicable accounting standards.
• Follow up with Business Units and manage the Division's finances; compile and analyse financial information for internal purposes.
• Maintain accounting records and controls, review expenditures against budgets and check accounting reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Support Project and Business Unit Managers in preparing forecasts and budgets.
• Train staff in accounting policies and procedures and help resolve accounting issues.
• Analyse financial data to help business units interpret it, and maintain financial systems and procedures in line with group guidelines.
• Carry out ad hoc reporting and analysis, guide the project and administration teams, and interact with external auditors and perform internal audits as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments so that finance aligns with business objectives, and comply with the company health and safety policy.

Required profile

• Degree in commerce with accounting preferred.
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles.
• Ability to analyse financial data and prepare reports, forecasts and budgets.
• High proficiency in financial systems such as ERP, Excel and BI tools.
• Adaptable to flexible schedules around month-end accounts and fixed schedules set by the parent company, and able to handle unexpected software issues.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to work under pressure, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
