Kitchen Specialist (HFB7)

About the role

IKEA Tampines is hiring a Kitchen Specialist (HFB7) in its sales team. The role centres on helping customers design their ideal kitchen, selling the IKEA kitchen range and supporting kitchen planning and installation. Candidates need relevant experience with floor plans and kitchen site measurements and in-depth knowledge of IKEA kitchen planning, layout and installation.

Key responsibilities

• Use Active Sales techniques to find solutions for customers and confidently sell the IKEA kitchen range.
• Help customers design their kitchen, suggesting suitable products and arrangements.
• Maximise kitchen furniture and accessories sales using knowledge of the IKEA range, the local market and colleagues' expertise.
• Explain store services such as assembly, kitchen installation, transport and finance so customers make informed choices.
• Coach customers and colleagues on kitchen planning using the IKEA Home Planner, applying all IKEA kitchen planning criteria.
• Keep up with local kitchen competition and competitor prices to highlight IKEA's advantages.
• Draw kitchen floor plans by hand when the IKEA Home Planner is unavailable and describe the minimum measurements needed for a functional kitchen.
• Support colleagues professionally on kitchen planning and installation issues and cross-check drawings to minimise errors.
• Work closely with kitchen service providers to ensure kitchens are delivered and installed on time.
• Support the manager in executing department commercial plans, activities and promotions.

Required profile

• Experience planning, designing and selling kitchens in a retail environment.
• Ability to work with customers on their desired layout and complete complex purchases accurately.
• Good knowledge of site measurement and kitchen installation, and ability to handle difficult situations.
• Problem solver who can prioritise and organise work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Flexible and available to work weekends, public holidays and shifts.
