Lab Technician – Cleanroom & Nanofabrication

About the role

The Lab Technician will support daily operations of the cleanroom and nanofabrication facilities at NTU’s National Centre for Advanced Integrated Photonics. The role ensures equipment uptime, safety compliance, and efficient use of resources while assisting researchers in their fabrication projects.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot nanofabrication equipment (e.g., FIB, EBL, RIE, ALD, deposition systems)
• Manage cleanroom consumables and ensure facility readiness
• Train and certify users; enforce SOPs and safety compliance
• Administer booking systems and coordinate equipment usage
• Support fabrication processes and research activities

Required profile

• Diploma with at least 3 years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or a related field
• Hands‑on experience in cleanroom or nanofabrication environments
• Strong safety awareness and good documentation practices
• Responsible, methodical, and able to support multiple users in a shared facility
