Lab Technician – Coatings & Chemical Manufacturing (1‑Year Contract)

About the role

Our client, a leading global manufacturer in the coatings and chemical industry, is seeking two Lab Technicians on a 1‑year renewable contract to support product development, plant scale‑up qualification, and customer technical training.

Key responsibilities

• Support formulation work, sample preparation, paint characterization and test reporting.
• Operate lab testing equipment independently, including high‑speed dispermat, viscometers, aging chambers and digital imaging stations.
• Communicate test data to plant QC and process teams to aid new product scale‑up and qualification.
• Maintain lab safety, cleanliness and compliance with 5S, ODMS and chemical handling procedures.
• Manage sample logistics and assist in technical training for customers.
• Participate in site safety programmes and laboratory audits.

Required profile

• ITE or Diploma in Science, Chemistry, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Up to 2 years of experience in a chemical laboratory environment (training provided).
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); SAP knowledge is a plus.

• Monthly salary SGD 2,400 – 2,800.
