Lab Technician

About the role

Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, is looking for a Lab Technician in Singapore. The role covers metallographic and chemical sample preparation, mechanical and chemical testing and support of laboratory equipment and administration. Candidates without prior experience are welcome to apply as training will be provided.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare metallographic and chemical samples using analytical tools to evaluate coating, structural and chemical quality.
• Perform related mechanical and chemical tests.
• Ensure conformance of turnaround time for lab analysis.
• Assist in waste store management and support Total Preventive Maintenance for lab equipment.
• Assist with purchasing-related administrative work such as RFQ, PR and PO issuance.
• Solve technical issues as appropriate in daily routine work.
• Take part in continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
• Comply with the EHS, Quality and Ethics Code of Conducts.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical or Aerospace-related Engineering, or equivalent.
• Able to work night and rotating shifts, including rotational weekends and overtime.
• Preferred: at least 2 years of relevant laboratory experience.
