Lead, Academic - Postgraduate Programmes

About the role

The Lead, Academic is a key leadership role at NTU's Main Campus campus, responsible for the effective delivery and continuous improvement of postgraduate (PG) academic programmes. The role supports the university's mission of high-quality, research-driven education by managing academic processes, coordinating curriculum development and driving innovation in programme administration. It acts as a bridge between academic leadership, faculty and administrative systems.

Key responsibilities

• PhD programme and examination management: oversee qualifying examinations (QE), thesis and reviewer coordination, and attend to academic matters for PhD programme partnerships and joint PhDs
• Research exchange programmes (e.g. China Scholarship Council, non-degree) and PhD admissions and scholarships
• Teaching support insights and faculty engagement initiatives, including assigning shortlisted students to Post Work Study Scheme (WSS) placements
• Financial administration and billing for MSc students: check semester billing, follow up the monthly aging report on outstanding tuition fees, oversee fee waiver appeals and process WSS claim submissions
• Data-driven planning: analyse postgraduate student demographics for Graduate Intake and Enrolment Planning (GIEP) projections, and improve workflows through automation and digitalisation

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma with at least 5 years of relevant experience in student services
• Strong background in academic administration, curriculum development or programme management
• Familiarity with postgraduate education frameworks and regulatory requirements
• Minimum 5 years of student services experience, including 2 years of supervisory experience
