Lead AI Analytics Engineer, Trust & Safety

About the role

Grab is hiring a Lead AI Analytics Engineer for its Integrity team, which protects users and transactions against fraud, identity abuse and safety violations. Reporting to the Head of Analytics for Risk, you will act as the technical architect between Trust & Safety business logic and the real-time Risk Engine, building the data pipelines, vector databases and multi-agent orchestration frameworks that power the team's AI. The team is transforming toward autonomous agentic workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Build and optimise data ingestion pipelines, including vector databases, embeddings generation and parsing of unstructured data such as Slack logs and historical investigations.
• Design, deploy and maintain multi-agent systems using frameworks such as LangChain, LangSmith and LangGraph to automate risk detection workflows.
• Implement automated code-level intercepts (e.g. AST parsers, EXPLAIN query cost evaluation) to block AI-generated SQL or rules before they reach production.
• Build tenant-owned Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and restricted API wrappers so AI agents can safely interact with the Risk Engine.
• Own the reliability, latency and token-cost efficiency of internal agent platforms.
• Partner with Data Analysts to turn their Trust & Safety knowledge into machine-readable formats and scalable agentic skills.

Required profile

• At least 6 years of experience in data-heavy systems, backend engineering, applied machine learning or a related field.
• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Analytics, Software Engineering or a related quantitative field.
• Strong foundational data engineering knowledge (data structures, pipelines, ETL, vectorization, embeddings).
• Experience moving legacy, pre-LLM systems into modern AI infrastructure is highly preferred.
• Fluency in Trust & Safety / fraud is a strong plus; openness to learning the domain is required.

Required skills

• Deep Python and backend system architecture, with secure API development.
• Hands-on deployment and orchestration of LLMs with LangSmith and LangGraph.
