Lead Design Engineer - Optical Transceiver SI/PI Simulation

About the role

Jabil is looking for a Lead Design Engineer who will simulate and analyze the signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) of optical transceivers using simulation tools. The engineer verifies the transceiver's performance, identifies potential problems and develops solutions, working closely with other engineers so the product meets all requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Simulate and analyze the signal integrity and power integrity of optical transceivers.
• Use simulation software to model and analyze transmission lines, connectors and other components.
• Identify SI/PI issues such as reflections, crosstalk and noise.
• Develop and implement solutions to address SI/PI problems.
• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure the transceiver meets all performance requirements.
• Document and report simulation results.

Required profile

• Master's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field.
• Relevant experience in SI/PI simulation and analysis.
• Experience with high-speed data transmission and fiber optics.
• Familiarity with test and measurement equipment (e.g., VNA, TDR).

Required skills

• Strong understanding of SI/PI principles and theories.
• Experience with SI/PI simulation software such as HFSS and ANSYS.
• Experience with 3D/2D electromagnetic (EM) simulation tools.
• Knowledge of transmission line theory and optical transceiver design and operation.
• Experience with high-speed electronics and photonics.
