Lead Engineer, Cloud Platform

About the role

Singapore Airlines is looking for a Lead Engineer, Cloud Platform to bring technical and engineering depth to its Cloud Platform Engineering team. The role delivers secure, reliable and scalable infrastructure on AWS for enterprise workloads, guides a team of Cloud and DevOps engineers, and ensures operational excellence, cloud compliance and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, cost-optimized cloud infrastructure focused on AWS-native services and best practices.
• Guide the development of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) with Terraform, CloudFormation or similar, and own and improve CI/CD pipelines with AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins and other automation tools.
• Provide architectural direction, hands-on support and mentorship to a team of Cloud and DevOps engineers, and partner with InfoSec, auditors and application teams on compliance and delivery.
• Work with InfoSec and Audit to identify and remediate compliance issues, and implement security best practices across networking, IAM, data protection and monitoring.
• Drive end-to-end automation of provisioning, patching, monitoring and alerting, using tools such as Datadog, Splunk, Sourcegraph and Cloud Conformity.
• Demonstrate hands-on expertise in AWS networking (VPCs, Transit Gateways, Direct Connect, Route53) and Linux administration, support disaster recovery planning and operational readiness drills, and take part in out-of-hours administration.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years hands-on with AWS and infrastructure/platform engineering.
• Proven experience leading teams in cloud administration, DevOps and automation.
• Strong understanding of infrastructure security, compliance and cloud audit frameworks.

Required skills

• Hands-on knowledge of AWS services (compute, networking, storage, databases).
• Scripting with Bash, Python and Ansible.
• Solid grasp of Linux administration and networking fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Datadog, Splunk and Cloud Conformity.
• Preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS), FinOps exposure, and stakeholder influence.
