Lead Process Development Engineer – Welding & Joining

About the role

We are looking for a Lead Process Development Engineer to drive the development, industrialisation and deployment of advanced joining and repair technologies across our global repair network. You will work within the Advanced Manufacturing & Repair Technology (AMRT) team, collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, supply‑chain and repair facilities worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and industrialisation of advanced joining and repair technologies for global manufacturing and repair operations.
• Design innovative repair solutions for new product introductions and component repair strategies.
• Develop validation plans for repair materials and laser‑cladding processes in partnership with New Repair Introduction teams.
• Drive technology transfer and qualification of repair service centres, ensuring compliance with standards and certifications.
• Execute engineering projects covering process design, analysis, evaluation and continuous‑improvement initiatives.
• Provide technical expertise in welding, brazing, laser‑cladding and related metallurgical processes.
• Monitor project progress, communicate developments and ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain high‑quality technical documentation and identify productivity improvements across the global repair network.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Welding, Materials, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 8 years of manufacturing experience, with a minimum of 5 years focused on joining technologies.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving capabilities.
• Effective communicator able to collaborate with global, cross‑functional teams.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10 % for project support.
