Lead Quality Engineer - Gas Turbine Manufacturing

About the role

Gevernova is looking for a Lead Quality Engineer to oversee both quality assurance and quality control at cell and plant level in its gas turbine component manufacturing. The role manages quality risks in manufacturing processes, implements quality management systems, drives quality competency across the plant, improves process yield and reduces cost of poor quality, and reports directly to the Quality Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Own quality assurance and quality control at assigned cell level, including products and manufacturing processes, and contribute to wider plant-level quality initiatives
• Act as BIQ champion at plant level, implement, sustain and coach cell members to stay in a zero-defect framework
• Lead plant-level training initiatives moving the factory toward standardized, skill-based competency assessment
• Support the implementation and adherence of Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, possibly drafting, issuing and training local procedures
• Develop deep knowledge of gas turbine component manufacturing processes and use technical expertise to solve problems and achieve SQDC performance
• Drive plant-wide initiatives to increase product and process yield and reduce scrap, rework and warranty costs
• Facilitate plant-level Quality Improvement Projects (QIP) to meet quality KPI targets
• Resolve issues using root cause analysis (RCA) and consult with internal and external teams
• Maintain and run the internal audit program, resolve customer NCRs and organise containment actions
• Provide informal guidance to junior team members and lead cross-functional teams

Required profile

• 7 years of operational, quality and engineering experience in manufacturing (preferred)
• Basic understanding of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems
• Practitioner of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
• Strong oral and written communication, analytical and report writing skills, and ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams
