Lead Systems Engineer

About the role

The Lead Systems Engineer defines the manufacturing transformation roadmap and leads execution of transformation initiatives across Philips manufacturing sites. The role works closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive digitalization, Industry 4.0 adoption, and continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Define the manufacturing technology and transformation roadmap, including technology scouting, strategy development, and implementation planning.
• Lead and execute manufacturing transformation projects from concept through implementation.
• Conceptualize, design, and implement manufacturing systems using systems thinking and architectural principles.
• Initiate and drive continuous improvement projects to enhance processes and operational performance.
• Collaborate with technology partners to pilot, validate, and industrialize Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Ensure activities meet quality, safety, regulatory, environmental, cost, and compliance requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in manufacturing, operations, engineering, industrial engineering, or systems engineering.

Required skills

• Design of digital solutions that translate manufacturing processes into efficient, resource‑saving applications.
• Development of real‑time visualization tools for key operational metrics.
• Creation of simulation models for scenario analysis and operational improvements.
• Building dashboards and digital management tools for performance monitoring.
• Knowledge of Industry 4.0 concepts, Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI), and Future Factory initiatives.
• Application of Lean Manufacturing principles.
