Lecturer (Aerospace Engineering)

About the role

Republic Polytechnic's School of Engineering is recruiting a Lecturer in Aerospace Engineering. The role centres on teaching SAR-66 modules and supporting students' final-year projects and internships.

Key responsibilities

• Develop curriculum and deliver lessons, mainly in Singapore Airworthiness Requirement Part 66 (SAR-66) M1 to M17 modules and other engineering disciplines.
• Supervise students' final-year projects and internships and liaise with industry partners and universities.
• Develop and deliver Continuing Education and Training (CET) lessons.
• Take part in academic research, R&D/implementation projects or industry consultancy.
• Mentor and motivate students.
• Plan and lead school activities such as overseas trips, service learning and outreach events.
• Handle other administrative work related to the programme and student development.

Required profile

• Qualification in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of work experience in aerospace MRO, with one of the following:
• Holding or having held a CAAS aircraft maintenance licence (B1 and/or B2 category).
• 5 years as a B1 and/or B2 aircraft maintenance technician who has passed the relevant CAAS SAR-66 basic examinations.
• An engineering qualification and the relevant CAAS SAR-66 basic examinations for B1 and/or B2.
• Genuine passion for sharing knowledge with young people, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Initiative, independence, teamwork, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Strong industry links in the related fields.
