Lecturer - AI Applications (2-Year Contract)

About the role

ITE College West is recruiting a Lecturer for a 2-year contract to teach Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Analytics and Intelligent Automation. Beyond teaching, the lecturer carries out industry or consultancy projects and takes part in regular industry attachments to stay current with developments such as generative AI and AI-assisted workflows.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver curriculum in AI, machine learning, data analytics and intelligent automation, integrating AI tools into teaching and managing students to improve engagement and learning outcomes.
• Design and deliver learning experiences that build practical fluency in AI-assisted work, including prompt engineering, AI-augmented coding, data analysis workflows and evaluation of AI-generated outputs.
• Support part-time courses under the Continuing Training Department, including intake activities, correspondence on course and funding matters, student information management and intake data analysis.
• Use AI productivity tools to make administrative work more efficient.

Required profile

• Relevant training in Computer Science or related fields.
• At least 3 years of relevant industry experience, with strong knowledge of machine learning algorithms, deep neural networks and reinforcement learning.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools in a professional or teaching context, including generative AI platforms, AI-assisted development environments and/or AI-powered data analytics tools.
• Demonstrated ability or willingness to embed AI tool literacy into curriculum design and delivery.
• Interest in course administration and outreach/publicity.
• Independent, analytical and a strong communicator who can work in teams, multitask and meet tight deadlines.

Required skills
