Lecturer - Events & Project Management

About the role

Republic Polytechnic is recruiting a Lecturer for its Diploma in Events & Project Management (DEPM). The role shapes future-ready graduates with competencies in event management, project leadership, experience design, digital transformation, sustainability and AI. Duties go beyond teaching to include curriculum innovation, industry engagement, consultancy projects and applied learning.

Key responsibilities

• Teach PET and CET programmes and develop, review and update curriculum, learning resources and assessments to reflect industry needs and emerging workforce demands.
• Integrate industry practice, digital technologies and AI-enabled tools into teaching, and contribute to stackable credentials, professional certifications and lifelong learning programmes.
• Build partnerships with industry, professional associations and government agencies, and run industry projects, consultancy engagements and work-integrated learning.
• Mentor students in competitions, showcases and experiential learning, and organise industry visits, guest lectures and networking.
• Advocate for AI and emerging technologies, guiding students in using AI responsibly for project planning, event operations, marketing, content creation, stakeholder engagement and data analysis.
• Support student development by supervising internships, final-year projects and industry assignments, and fostering leadership, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
• Contribute to consultancy, applied research and capability development, and design and deliver professional development programmes for industry partners.

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification in Events Management, Project Management, Hospitality, Tourism, Business, Marketing, Communications or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
• At least 8 years of relevant industry experience in MICE and business events, conferences and exhibitions, event production and live events, project management, customer experience and experience design, event technology, marketing and communications, tourism and destination management.
• Interest in and practical use of AI and digital tools in professional settings; experience with AI productivity tools, workflow automation, digital marketing, data analytics, CRM, event technology or digital transformation is advantageous.
