Lecturer / Senior Lecturer, Hospitality Business, Customer Experience and Analytics

About the role

Republic Polytechnic's School of Hospitality is seeking a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer who will go beyond teaching and facilitate student learning. The role involves fostering each student's aspirations and lifelong learning needs, and conducting academic research published in peer-reviewed journals and educational conferences.

Key responsibilities

• Foster a supportive environment for students through pastoral care and guidance on their educational and career paths.
• Develop and review module curriculum with engaging learning activities aligned with programme and module outcomes for pre-employment training (PET) and continuing education and training (CET).
• Deliver lessons effectively through good class management.
• Supervise students in projects and other curricular activities.
• Carry out academic or action research to deepen teaching and learning competencies.
• Handle administrative duties and academic affairs related to a programme.

Required profile

• A minimum of five years of teaching experience, preferably in Hospitality Business Management, Customer Experience Management, or Customer Journey Mapping and Analytics.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, management and writing skills.
• Resourceful team player with trustworthiness, independence and a proactive work ethic.
• Strong conceptual thinking, problem-solving and the ability to mediate classroom discussion and evaluate reasoning.
• Ability to intervene based on analysis of student results and performance.
• Academic research experience, publications and successful grant applications preferred.

Required skills

• Digital literacy and collaboration using digital tools.
• AI literacy covering AI fundamentals, data science, AI tools and automation, NLP, AI ethics and prompt engineering.
