Legal Associate – Shipping & Insurance Litigation

About the role

AsiaLegal LLC is seeking a full-time Legal Associate to join its Singapore office on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate will work closely with partners and senior lawyers on matters spanning shipping and admiralty litigation, marine and general insurance, reinsurance, and commercial and civil disputes.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct legal research and issue spotting for complex shipping, insurance and commercial disputes.
• Draft, review and organise pleadings, contracts, opinion letters and other legal documents.
• Prepare case files, bundles and supporting materials for arbitration and court proceedings.
• Liaise with clients, external counsel and other stakeholders, attend meetings and hearings as required.
• Assist in developing case strategy and maintaining accurate matter records.

Required profile

• Recognised law degree and eligibility to practice law in Singapore (or equivalent qualification with a clear pathway to admission).
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail, with capacity to manage multiple matters concurrently.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable with hybrid working arrangements, demonstrating reliability and collaboration both onsite and remotely.
