Legal Counsel – Asia/ANZPI

About the role

This position reports to the APAC Regional Counsel based in Singapore and supports Brown-Forman’s commercial, regulatory and corporate legal matters across Asia, Australia and New Zealand. It offers a junior legal professional exposure to cross‑border transactions, corporate governance and regional business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Negotiate, review, analyse and draft commercial contracts with customers, distributors and vendors in English and local languages.
• Provide competition‑law risk assessments and guidance to business stakeholders.
• Maintain corporate entities across the region, draft and track inter‑company agreements in collaboration with accounting and tax teams.
• Review beverage‑alcohol advertising, marketing and promotions for legal compliance and advise internal teams and agencies.
• Monitor regulatory developments, interact with governmental agencies and communicate recommended actions to local leadership.
• Deliver compliance training on competition law, anti‑bribery and privacy, and support the implementation of related policies.
• Assist the Regional Counsel in engaging and managing outside counsel.
• Provide day‑to‑day commercial legal support to sales, marketing and procurement functions.

Required profile

• Law degree with a focus on commercial, regulatory or corporate law.
• Junior‑level experience or strong interest in developing an in‑house legal career.
• Ability to communicate legal concepts clearly to non‑legal stakeholders.
• Collaborative mindset and willingness to work across multiple business functions.
