Legal Counsel – Banking & Finance (Singapore)

About the role

We are seeking a Legal Counsel to join the Singapore team of a leading international bank. The role offers the chance to work on a broad range of banking and finance matters, supporting corporate, private banking and treasury operations while ensuring compliance with local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on banking, financing, treasury and commercial transactions.
• Draft, review and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, ISDA documentation, outsourcing agreements, NDAs and other commercial contracts.
• Support corporate banking, private banking/wealth management and treasury deals.
• Advise on Singapore regulatory matters, including MAS regulations, PDPA, outsourcing and banking secrecy requirements.
• Assist with policy and procedure reviews, governance initiatives and legal risk management.
• Handle disputes, regulatory enquiries and coordinate with external counsel as needed.
• Review Chinese‑language legal and transaction documents for head‑office and cross‑border matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in a law firm, bank or financial institution.
• Experience in banking & finance, treasury, derivatives, financial services regulation or commercial contracts preferred.
• Familiarity with MAS regulations and Singapore banking documentation.
• Ability to review and draft Chinese‑language legal documents is advantageous.
• Strong drafting, analytical and stakeholder‑management abilities.
