About the role
Our client, a leading commodities trading firm, is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Singapore office. You will have the opportunity to support the business on all legal matters in the region and collaborate with market stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including supply contracts, joint venture documents and service agreements.
- Provide legally sound, commercially oriented advice to internal stakeholders across trading, freight and support functions, addressing issues related to global physical commodities trading.
- Support formal dispute resolution processes, including arbitration and litigation coordination.
- Contribute to trade and business development initiatives by identifying legal risks and offering proactive solutions.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in law or an equivalent qualification and be admitted to the bar.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in a law firm or in‑house legal department, preferably within commodities, metals, oil or gas sectors.
- Prior experience in commodity trading or cross‑border legal work is considered an advantage.
