About the role
Temu is seeking an experienced in‑house data privacy lawyer to join its legal team. You will provide expert advice on privacy matters, ensuring the company complies with global privacy regulations while supporting product and business initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Partner with business units to assess data privacy and security risks, and design regulatory controls for products and technologies.
- Support the development of privacy‑first products and services.
- Advise on data management, including privacy considerations for product, marketing, advertising, and data governance.
- Provide subject‑matter expertise during regulatory investigations, individual complaints, and inquiries.
- Offer guidance across all global privacy laws, especially for highly regulated and sensitive data.
- Draft, review, and negotiate data protection clauses in commercial agreements.
Required profile
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with a recognized bar association.
- Extensive experience in data privacy law with deep knowledge of GDPR, CCPA, PIPA, and related regulations.
- Proven track record of advising on complex privacy issues and building compliance programs.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- High integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
