Legal Counsel – Energy & Gas

About the role

GasCo is seeking a proactive Legal Counsel to join its Legal & Compliance team in Singapore. The role will provide legal advisory and contract support across the LNG and gas value chain, helping to safeguard Singapore’s energy security.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements such as Master Sale & Purchase Agreements, Long‑Term Sale & Purchase Agreements, Gas Supply Agreements, and Terminal Use Agreements.
• Support the review of financial and trading documentation, including ISDAs and financing agreements.
• Conduct legal research and deliver practical advice on commercial and operational matters.
• Assist in risk assessments, dispute management, and mitigation strategies.
• Interpret and apply regulatory frameworks, ensuring compliance with Singaporean and relevant international laws.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, external counsel, and stakeholders to support business execution.
• Maintain legal and compliance registers, documentation, and approval processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law or a related field.
• 3 to 10 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in corporate, energy, commodities, shipping, or financial services.
• Familiarity with LNG/gas contracts, key risks (e.g., force majeure, delivery risk) and the regulatory environment governing the sector.
• Good understanding of compliance and financial regulations is a plus.
• Strong legal drafting, reasoning, and analytical skills.
