Legal Counsel – Financial Services (Singapore)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Legal Counsel to join our Singapore office of a leading financial services institution. The role is a single‑contributor position providing comprehensive legal support across corporate, commercial and regulatory matters in a fast‑moving environment. You will work closely with senior management and business stakeholders to deliver practical, commercially‑focused advice.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, agreements and commercial contracts.
• Provide legal advice to management and business teams on corporate, employment and commercial matters to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Advise on legal risks, regulatory obligations and potential liabilities, recommending practical risk‑mitigation solutions.
• Manage legal documentation and maintain proper custody of contracts executed by the company.
• Handle legal aspects relating to client agreements, disclosures and related documentation.
• Support negotiations and contractual arrangements with external service providers and third parties.
• Assist in dispute management and resolution matters where required.
• Support regulatory, governance and ad‑hoc legal projects assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) qualification.
• Approximately 8 to 10 years of relevant legal experience, ideally with exposure to corporate and commercial law.
• Minimum 5 years of experience within the financial services industry.
• Good understanding of the Securities and Futures Act, MAS regulations, SGX regulations and Singapore employment law.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Independent, meticulous and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Positive attitude, professionalism and high level of integrity.
