Legal Counsel – Fintech & Payments

About the role
As Legal Counsel you will be a key legal partner to leaders and teams across IPID, providing practical, commercially focused advice on a broad range of matters including commercial contracts, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, data privacy and risk management.
Key responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support across the business, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements.
- Support corporate governance and entity management activities across international entities.
- Act as the primary legal lead for data privacy and data protection matters.
- Help develop and improve legal, compliance, and regulatory processes and best practices.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the business and industry.
- Manage relationships with external legal counsel and service providers when required.
- Identify legal risks and provide practical recommendations to support business decision‑making.
Required profile
- Qualified lawyer with a law degree from a recognised institution and 5‑8 years post‑qualification experience in corporate and commercial law.
- In‑house legal experience, preferably within payments, fintech, banking, SaaS or a regulated technology environment.
- Understanding of financial services and banking regulations, including data protection, fraud, security and risk‑related matters.
- Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proactive and comfortable working independently across different teams and jurisdictions.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
