Legal Counsel

About the role

Fuku is hiring a Legal Counsel in Singapore on a full-time basis. The role provides legal advice and support to management and departments across a wide range of legal issues, and works closely with external counsel on complex matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support to management and departments on a wide range of legal issues.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, agreements and other legal documents to protect the company's interests.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and advise on potential legal risks and liabilities.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings, including litigation, arbitration and mediation.
• Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed to manage complex legal matters.
• Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to promote best practices and mitigate risks.
• Conduct legal research and stay up to date on relevant legal developments and industry trends.
• Train and guide employees on legal and compliance matters.

Required profile

• Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
• At least five years of legal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
• Exposure to cross-border transactions, technology, cloud services, data centres or infrastructure is an advantage.
• Demonstrated ability to draft, review and negotiate a broad range of agreements, including customer, supplier, procurement, services, confidentiality and strategic partnership contracts.
• Working knowledge of Singapore and Southeast Asian requirements relating to corporate governance, data protection, intellectual property, employment matters and commercial compliance.
